Sport Premium Allocation

P E  – 2013 /2014

In November 2013, Evenwood Church of England Primary School was allocated additional funding from the Government to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles. Examples of how we are using our PE and sport funding follows.

  • Specialist PE teachers work alongside our teachers to increase their knowledge
  • Providing cover staff to release teachers
  • Providing places for pupils in after-school sport clubs
  • Providing training and payment for midday supervisors to introduce playground games at lunchtimes
  • Paying for transport, pool hire and instruction to provide additional swimming lessons for those pupils unable to swim by the end of year 6
  • Purchasing specialist equipment and teaching resources
  • Providing pupils who are gifted and talented in sport with expert, intensive coaching and support.

Throughout the year we practice many sports skills in our PE lessons. We have a minimum of 2 hours PE per week, which is statutory.

Our children participate in sports festivals and competitions during the year. We will keep you informed when they are taking place.
